Senior competition litigator Belinda Hollway joins Hausfeld in London

London, 10 June 2025 - Global disputes-only law firm Hausfeld is pleased to announce that Partner Belinda Hollway is joining its London office, further reinforcing the firm’s market-leading competition litigation and collective redress practice. Belinda is a renowned expert in competition damages litigation, with particular focus on collective actions on behalf of claimants in the Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Belinda has a strong track record of acting for both class representatives and major corporate clients in complex, high-value disputes arising from anticompetitive conduct. She will join the firm on 23 June. 

Her arrival marks a significant strategic addition to the firm. She acted in the landmark Mark McLaren collective action, the first cases to secure an approved settlement under the UK’s collective actions regime, and she represented Doug Taylor Class Representative Limited in proposed proceedings against car financing providers. Her broader experience includes acting for retail giants such as Vodafone, Pendragon, and Soho House in litigation against Visa and Mastercard concerning interchange fees. 

Her prior roles in London include Co-Head at Scott + Scott UK LLP and nearly a decade at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, bringing with her deep insight from both the claimant and defence perspectives. Belinda was named one of The Lawyer’s Hot 100 Lawyers last year and is highly ranked for Competition Law: Private Enforcement – Claimant by Chambers and Partners and in the Group Litigation category since 2023. She has also been recognised in Global Competition Review’s ‘Europe Claimant Bar’ and as a Thought Leader for Competition by Lexology Index (previously WWL) since 2019.

This will bring Hausfeld London disputes resolution team to 17 partners and 50 qualified lawyers, further supported by a team of paralegals and business professionals of which 14 partners and 41 lawyers focus on antitrust matters.

About Belinda Hollway

With extensive expertise in competition damages litigation, she acts for businesses and for classes of businesses and consumers who have suffered loss as a result of cartels or other forms of anticompetitive conduct. Belinda has acted for class representatives as well as corporate clients and represents clients across a wide range of industries.

She joins Hausfeld from Scott + Scott UK LLP where she was Co-Head of the London office. Previously, she spent nine years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, also in London. Prior to moving to the UK in 2006, Belinda worked for the competition and litigation teams of Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney and clerked for Her Honour Justice Branson of the Federal Court of Australia.

In addition to the afore mentioned landmark collective actions, Belinda also acted for Kodak in claims brought against large banks in relation to the manipulation of the aluminium market and for Michael O’Higgins FX Class Representative Limited in the Competition Appeal Tribunal in the proposed collective against five leading banks in relation to the manipulation of the Foreign Exchange market, which included litigating the first carriage dispute in the regime.
