Hausfeld celebrates International Women’s Day: Perspectives from its Managing Partners
As we mark International Women’s Day (IWD) and Women’s History Month, we take a moment to reflect on the progress made toward gender equality and the work that still lies ahead. This year’s UN theme, "For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.", resonates with Hausfeld’s ongoing commitment to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all.
To celebrate IWD 2025, UK Managing Partner, Nicola Boyle, US Managing Partner, Melinda R. Coolidge and German Managing Partner, Ann-Christin Richter, Hausfeld’s three female Managing Partners share their perspectives on what it takes to empower women in law and beyond:
“Empowerment comes through providing people with opportunities and support to reach their full potential by encouraging them to speak up, share ideas and drive change. It also recognises that people can lead and influence in multiple ways.”
UK Managing Partner, Nicola Boyle
“Personally, I think it’s empowering to think about the different ways to lead at various stages of your career. You might lead by taking the first pen on a legal brief, or by managing a case well and recommending a course of action. You can be a leader by making sure that all team members are comfortable speaking up and knowing that it is safe to disagree. And importantly, a leader recognizes and celebrates the contributions being made by each member of their team, and creates space for others to shine.”
US Managing Partner, Melinda R. Coolidge
“Leadership is not about having the loudest voice but about setting the right impulses at the right time. Competence, reliability, and consistency are the keys to long-term success.”
German Managing Partner, Ann-Christin Richter
At Hausfeld we remain committed to fostering a culture where everyone is empowered to succeed, and we celebrate the achievements of our colleagues who drive change every day.
