The 2026 Women and Diversity in Law Awards include two Hausfeld finalists
The Women and Diversity in Law Awards 2026 have shortlisted two Hausfeld colleagues in recognition of their professional achievements and contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
Demica Kaur Nettleford, Associate in Hausfeld’s Commercial Dispute Resolution team, has been shortlisted for “Rising Star - Boutique Law Firm”. Demica has built an impressive track record acting on complex, high-value disputes, while also playing an active role in driving equity and inclusion initiatives at Hausfeld. Alongside her practice, Demica leads conversations on racial justice and cultural heritage - which often includes sharing the complexities and richness of her own racial identity - and helps to create an environment in which colleagues feel supported and able to bring their whole selves to work. She also leads Hausfeld’s Social Inclusion work experience programme for inner-city students, designed to engage the next generation early by offering insight into careers across the firm and supporting social mobility within the workplace.
Our Marketing & BD Director, Silvia Van den Bruel, has been shortlisted for “Law Firm Leader of the Year - Boutique Law Firm”. Since joining the firm in 2018, Silvia has led the firm’s global brand and strategic communications through periods of significant change. She is recognised for her strategic judgement, her calm and thoughtful approach to leadership and her commitment to inclusive practice. Silvia actively champions the importance of mentoring; the visibility and instrumental contribution of business professionals to the success of the firms they work for and helps normalise taboo topics such as the menopause in the workplace.
These nominations celebrate two exceptional women and reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion across the firm and the wider legal community.
The awards ceremony will take place on 28th April 2026 at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London.
