GCR 100 2023 continues to single Hausfeld out as the only elite firm at the EU Claimant Bar

Europe’s growing claimant-side competition bar has seen some blockbuster moves over the past two years as cases continue to proliferate in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and elsewhere and for a number of years now, Global Competition Review 100 2023 has recognised Hausfeld as the only elite firm at the EU Claimant Bar for a number of years now. (*)

Europe-wide it can count on 18 partners, 6 counsel and 41 associates. With 9 lawyers recognised in Who’s Who Legal, it is the largest and most nominated team at the EU Claimant Bar. They identified Laurent Geelhand’s (now at DLA) considerable contribution to the firm’s expansion.

In recognition of the team, they say: “A pioneer in the field, Hausfeld sports the biggest and best competition damages claims group in the EU. The truly pan-European practice boasts some of the continent’s most experienced plaintiff lawyers, including Anthony Maton, the firm’s co-founder and global co-chair. The team has unmatched strength in depth.”

Commenting on our case highlights:

“Hausfeld is instructed in so many important claims, it is tough to do justice to its recent highlights. The firm is counsel to class representatives in multiple proposed and already certified high-profile collective proceedings in the UK, including against Apple, Google, Qualcomm, six banks and multiple UK rail franchise operators.

The firm has also advanced separate claims on behalf of some of its automotive clients against members of various auto parts conspiracies, while also bundling multiple claims into “financial right claims” damages actions against members of the Trucks cartel in Germany. The team is also progressing several claims against the same cartel in the UK.”
