The American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section’s Antitrust Masters Course

On September 26-28, the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section will convene their annual Antitrust Masters Course for attorneys in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Masters Course will involve a series of comprehensive lectures examining the underlying trends and tensions in current antitrust doctrine.  The course will also feature the popular “The View” sessions, where high-ranking officials from both the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice will discuss key trends and issues related to their initiatives.

On Friday, September 27, Michael D. Hausfeld, Chair Emeritus of Hausfeld, will be the keynote luncheon speaker.

On Saturday, September 28, Hausfeld Partner Katie R. Beran will join Eric Grannon of White & Case LLP and James Langenfeld of Berkeley Research Group for the Breakout Session on Class Certification. Class certification is often the make-or-break moment in an antitrust class action. This session will examine class certification requirements and offer practical guidance on class definition issues, working with economic experts and related Daubert issues, and class certification arguments.

The Antitrust Masters Course aims to enhance the skills of young attorneys while also providing advanced training for seasoned practitioners. Sessions will explore timely and significant antitrust developments, offering practical tools used by some of the most experienced antitrust attorneys. In plenary sessions, leading academics and experts will share their insights and expertise.
