DC Partner Nathaniel Giddings honored by the American Antitrust Institute
We are very pleased to announce that DC Partner Nathaniel Giddings has been selected as an honoree by the American Antitrust Institute (AAI) 2020 Antitrust Enforcement Awards in the ‘Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer’ category. Nathaniel earned this honor for his high-quality, innovative contributions to the In re Disposable Contact Lens Antitrust Litigation case.
Hausfeld serves as co-lead counsel on this case, representing a class of end-user purchasers of certain disposable contact lenses manufactured by the four leading domestic producers—Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (“JJVC”), Alcon, Bausch & Lomb and CooperVision. Other Hausfeld team members on this case include: Christopher Lebsock, Michael Lehmann, James Pizzirusso, Bonny Sweeney, and Jeanette Bayoumi. Ben Steinberg, Associate at Robins Kaplan, Hausfeld’s co-counsel in the case, will be honored alongside Nathaniel, underscoring the strong, successful collaboration within the case’s leadership team.
The 2020 Antitrust Enforcement Awards will recognize achievements in antitrust litigation by legal practitioners and economists. The ‘Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer’ category is limited to private civil actions and is awarded to attorneys under 40 years old or admitted to practice for 10 years or less. Nominees are judged on the individual’s contribution to the case; the benefit realized by the client, consumers, or class; and the positive development of antitrust policy.
Honorees will be recognized during the virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 12, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
