Global Class Actions Symposium 2020

Multiple jurisdictions have now developed their own collective actions regimes, which often makes navigating the litigation landscape challenging, especially for those firms operating across borders. In this virtual world, Global Legal Group hosted a global class actions symposium in the afternoons of 18th to 20th November.

On day one of this symposium, Managing Partner and competition litigation specialist, Anthony Maton, joined the ‘Settlements of Global Disputes’ panel to discuss the effect of US judgments on European collective redress proceedings. The panel explored:

  • Can US evidence and court decisions be used in European proceedings?
  • Which procedure should be used to give effect to US class actions?
  • How can lawyers from the US and Europe expand their business to other jurisdictions?
