Lianne Craig to step up as Managing Partner for Hausfeld in London while Anthony Maton becomes Global Co-Chair

London, 1st December 2021. Hausfeld today announced that, effective 1 January 2022, Head of Commercial Disputes, Lianne Craig, will become Managing Partner in London.

She takes the reins from current London Managing Partner and Vice Chair, Anthony Maton, who will be assuming the role of Global Co-Chair, together with Washington, DC Partner and Vice Chair Brian Ratner, as long-time Chair Michael Hausfeld will become Chair Emeritus. Partner John McElroy will take over from Lianne as Head of Commercial Disputes team in London.

London Managing Partner since Hausfeld’s inception, Anthony Maton has overseen extensive growth and success of Hausfeld in London and continued expansion across Europe. In Washington, DC, Brian Ratner has successfully led Hausfeld’s US and global business development efforts as the firm has expanded its practice areas and client base. Both are founding partners and have been Vice Chairs since 2019. They will work closely with Brent Landau, who will continue in his role as Global Managing Partner.

Lianne joined Hausfeld London in 2010, shortly after its launch. Under her leadership, Hausfeld’s commercial disputes team has grown considerably, not only in size but also in reputation. Lianne was recognised as ‘Individual of the Year for Dispute Resolution London’ by The Legal 500 in their UK awards 2020. In addition, she was recognised in The Lawyer Hot 100 2021.

John McElroy is a commercial dispute resolution lawyer with extensive experience in dealing with complex and often high value commercial litigation and international arbitration matters. He has been integral to the growth of the Commercial Disputes team. He is an executive committee member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association, as well as one of regular spokespersons.

This announcement expands on the global announcement of the firm’s implementation of its global leadership succession plan.

Also, the firm announced that Melinda Coolidge, in Washington, DC, has been promoted to US Managing Partner as part of Hausfeld’s leadership transition plan, which also saw executive appointments for operations and finance during the last three years. In addition, Washington, DC Partner Reena Gambhir, San Francisco Partner Megan Jones, and Berlin Partner Ann-Christin Richter will join the firm’s Global Management Group.
