Kio specialises in competition litigation, data protection claims and commercial disputes. He was promoted to Counsel in January 2026.
Expertise
Kio has extensive litigation experience in both the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the English High Court, managing multi-party claims and litigating against multiple defendants. Kio has considerable expertise in dealing with cartel and abuse of dominance disputes, both for and against global corporates, and is part of the team currently advising class representatives Dr Kent and Ms Coll in their app store claims against Apple and Google, respectively.
In addition to various commercial and pro bono matters, Kio was part of the legal team acting for over 100 claimants in the Air Cargo litigation against British Airways in the High Court and Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining Hausfeld, Kio trained at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP.
