Inès’ practice focuses predominately on competition disputes.

Expertise

Inès joins Hausfeld from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Amsterdam, where she commenced her legal career and qualified as an associate. She has developed extensive experience working on domestic and multi-jurisdictional competition matters and possesses expertise in follow-on damages claims, competition authorities investigations and merger clearance.

Inès has represented clients before the Dutch and European Courts and several competition authorities including the Dutch Competition Authority and the European Commission.

Inès’ client base includes clients across a range of sectors, including telecom, energy, environmental and financial.

Working towards a diverse, equitable and inclusive work force is paramount to Inès who is an active member of Hausfeld's Women’s Alliance group.

Inès is a native Dutch speaker possessing knowledge of French and German.

At Hausfeld, Inès is part of the legal teams:
- Acting for the proposed class representative, consumer advocate Julie Hunter, in collective proceedings filed against Amazon.com, Inc. seeking damages on behalf of UK consumers for alleged anticompetitive conduct in relation to Amazon’s ‘Buy Box’.
Prior to joining Hausfeld, Inès was part of the legal teams:
- Advising several clients on legal matters in general and competition law aspects of (international) transactions.
- Representing several clients before competition authorities such as the Dutch competition authority and the European Commission in relation to investigations into suspected anti-competitive behaviour.
- Representing a client before the General Court of the European Union in an appeal brought by a third party against a merger clearance in which this client was involved.
- Bringing an appeal on behalf of a client in the telecom sector before the Dutch Trade and Industry Appeals Tribunal (CBb) against a decision of the Dutch competition authority.
- Representing a client in proceedings concerning a follow-on damage claim brought in Belgium.
