Lesley Hannah recognised in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 for 2022
Among one of The Lawyer’s most anticipated features of the year, the ‘Hot 100 2022’ identifies those lawyers who are both excellent and relevant i.e. the work they do is important NOW. This includes legal experts from in-house, private practice and the Bar and we are proud to see Lesley Hannah listed amongst the best names in the legal market.
Lesley is increasingly seen as a thought leader in the digital markets’ litigation space, an area of particular focus by both lawmakers and regulators. She has been one of the driving forces behind Hausfeld’s burgeoning collective/group actions practice. She is lead partner on two recently launched abuse of dominance collectives in the CAT against Google and Apple, relating to excessive and unlawful charges by Google Play Store (19.5 million users, estimated £920 million damages) and Apple App Store (19.6 million users, estimated £1.5 billion damages). Both cases are the first competition collective actions with female class representatives and a predominantly female funding and legal team. The growth of collective actions are important from a consumer perspective as consumers are unlikely to be able to secure redress for losses without these kind of actions as the costs of litigation are too high.
Lesley is also a founding member of the UK’s Steering Committee of W@CompetitionUK | Womenat where she helped organise its mentoring programme during 2020/21 this year. This involved recruiting senior women and men from across the competition profession to mentor women.
With many thanks to The Lawyer and congratulations to all individuals mentioned.
