Shahrina Quader

As part of the legal team at the Competition Markets Authority in the UK, Shahrina:

• Conducted and managed of CMA litigation in the CAT, including the multi-party joined appeal in the Competition Appeal Tribunal against the CMA’s CA98 Prochlorperazine Decision in the pharmaceutical sector
• Conducted and managed of CMA litigation in the High Court, including applications for Director Disqualification Orders
• The CMA's consumer law investigation into Groupon which resulted in undertakings provided to the CMA
• Advised the CMA's case teams in relation to Phase 2 mergers and advised the CMA Remedies team in relation to designation under the Groceries Supply Code of Practice

As part of the enforcement team at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Shahrina:

• Led multiple teams in investigations of potential breaches of Australian competition and consumer law, including preparing and conducting litigation
• Worked on the Federal Court appeal against LG Electronics Australia for misleading conduct and false representations under the Australian Consumer Law.

At Hausfeld, Shahrina is part of the legal team working on:

• Competition damages claims following on from the European Commission Decision in relation to the Power Cables cartel.
• Acting on behalf of individual and business clients in relation to the alleged use by Mercedes of so-called ‘defeat devices’ for the purposes of cheating emissions testing. The team have issued claims on behalf of thousands of clients affected by Mercedes’ alleged conduct and are part of the Steering Committee of firms running the litigation.
