Edward is an experienced litigator focusing on complex commercial dispute resolution, arbitration and the private enforcement of competition law.

Edward has extensive experience acting for claimants and defendants in high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes spanning breach of contract, insurance coverage, professional negligence, civil fraud and unfair prejudice.

He has played pivotal roles in landmark litigation before the High Court and has been instrumental in high-profile competition damages claims in the Competition Appeal Tribunal against banks and global tech companies, including FX Claim UK, a collective action arising from alleged FX cartel conduct. He has also advised on international arbitrations under major institutional rules, with a recent highlight including acting for one of the UK’s largest independent healthcare providers in a substantial LCIA arbitration.

A member of the Junior London Solicitors Litigation Association Committee, Edward is also recognised for his thought leadership on artificial intelligence and its implications for legal practice.

Edward’s key experience in this area includes:
- Acting for the proposed class representative in FX Claim UK (Phillip Evans v Barclays Bank plc and others), a leading £3 billion opt-out collective proceedings against eight major international banks arising from European Commission foreign exchange manipulation findings. Achieved victory in a contested carriage dispute and a landmark Court of Appeal breakthrough establishing first business-focused opt-out collective action in English legal history. Currently subject to Supreme Court appeal. This case featured in The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2020 and Top 20 Appeals of 2025.
- Acting for the proposed class representative in UK Buy Box Claim (Julie Hunter v Amazon.com, Inc. and others) in collective proceedings filed against Amazon.com, Inc. seeking damages on behalf of UK consumers for alleged anticompetitive conduct in relation to Amazon’s ‘Buy Box’.
- Acting for individual and business clients in relation to the alleged use by Mercedes of so-called ‘defeat devices’ for the purposes of cheating emissions testing. The team has issued claims on behalf of thousands of clients affected by Mercedes’ alleged conduct and is part of the Steering Committee of firms running the litigation.
Edward’s key experience in this area includes:
- Acting for the claimant in Stuart Wall v The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, a successful £700 million interest rate swap mis-selling claim. This case featured in The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2017.
- Acting for the defendant in Athos Partners SAM v ABE Capital Partners SGEIC, SA., a multi-million pound breach of contract claim.
- Acting for one of the UK’s largest independent healthcare providers in a successful LCIA arbitration in respect of professional negligence.
- Acting for a major international technology company in a coverage dispute against its insurer.
- Acting for of a Spanish property company in a misrepresentation claim against its agent.
- Acting for a high-net-worth individual in a negligence claim and a related coverage dispute against his insurer.
- Acting for the minority shareholder in contemplated unfair prejudice proceedings against the company.
