GCR 100 2026 distinguishes Hausfeld as the only elite plaintiff firm for both Europe and the US

The Global Competition Review 100 2026 has once again recognised Hausfeld as the only ‘elite’ firm in both the European Claimants’ and US Plaintiffs’ Bar. Hausfeld has held this recognition for several consecutive years, highlighting its market-leading antitrust/competition litigation practice.

The research also relies on rankings in the Lexology Index Competition Report, GCR’s sister publication, with 22 Hausfeld lawyers ranked globally, making Hausfeld the largest and most widely recognised team in the European Claimants’ and US Plaintiffs’ Bar.

In Europe the firm is described as a “Europe’s standout claimant-side competition litigation firm” while Alex Petrasincu in Germany and Scott Campbell in London are recognised for their leadership.

Commenting on the European case highlights:

In Germany, the firm “represents clients in some of Europe’s largest private enforcement actions, including the €2 billion follow-on damages claims brought by multiple comparison-shopping services against Google. It has also prepared a claim against Google on behalf of legal services provider Titan Beta, representing multiple European website publishers.” The firm “also acts for transport and logistics companies such as REWE, PostNord and Waberer’s in the Trucks cartel litigation. In financial services, it continues to represent JET Tankstellen and Deichmann in damages claims against banking associations. It also represents BMW Group in follow-on claims against automotive suppliers.”

In the UK, the team “team continues to dominate the collective-action landscape before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, filing more than a dozen claims since 2020. It represents Rachael Kent in the Apple app store claim, which in January 2025 became the first collective action against a major tech company to go to trial. The firm also acts for Elizabeth Coll in the Google Play store case and Nikki Stopford in the certified Google search claim. Hausfeld is also pursuing a £13.6 billion opt-out collective action against Google for alleged anticompetitive practices in online display advertising.”

In the US, they identified Scott Martin and Megan E. Jones for leading the firm’s Antitrust practice group, with “one of the largest dedicated plaintiff-side antitrust groups in the US.”

Commenting on the US case highlights:

“The firm has been appointed as lead or co-lead counsel in more than 100 antitrust claims and class actions. It is court-appointed co-lead counsel for direct purchasers in the beef antitrust litigation, alleging that Cargill, JBS, National Beef and Tyson conspired to restrict supply and fix prices. The team has already secured a $52.5 million settlement with JBS and recently moved for class certification. The firm also played a central role in the Blue Cross Blue Shield antitrust litigation, culminating in a $2.67 billion settlement and injunctive relief. In the broiler chicken grower antitrust litigation, Hausfeld is co-lead counsel for a certified class of growers and has reached $169 million in settlements with five poultry companies. The firm also co-leads the domestic airline capacity-reduction litigation against United and Delta, where summary judgment was denied in 2023. Elsewhere, Hausfeld represents direct purchasers in a price-fixing claim against the four largest global fragrance suppliers, which survived a motion to dismiss in February 2025. The firm is also co-lead counsel in the long-running US Dollar LIBOR class action and has helped secure $781 million in settlements to date.”
