Seven Hausfeld lawyers to assume leadership roles in the ABA Section of Antitrust Law for 2026-2027, including incoming Chair-Elect

Hausfeld lawyers Scott Martin, Melinda R. Coolidge, Bonny E. Sweeney, Daniel P. Weick, Yixi (Cecilia) Cheng, and Erika A. Inwald will serve in leadership roles within the American Bar Association's (ABA) Section of Antitrust Law for the 2026-2027 Section year, and Lesley Hannah will chair a major Section conference in June 2027.

As announced last week, Scott Martin, Co-Chair of Hausfeld's US Antitrust Practice Group in New York, was named Chair-Elect of the ABA Antitrust Law Section for 2026-2027 — the highest position a member of the plaintiffs' bar has held in the Section’s 74-year history. Scott will assume the role of Chair of the 13,000-member Section in August 2027.

"It's an honor to be able to contribute to the vibrant debate and work of the Section," said Scott. "I look forward to continuing to help engage members of the antitrust bar, government enforcers, and academics — and the private enforcement community in particular — in issues to advance competition and protect consumer welfare."

In addition to Scott's appointment, Hausfeld is pleased to announce the following leadership appointments for the 2026–2027 term:

Melinda R. Coolidge, US Managing Partner in Washington, DC, transitions from Co-Chair of the International Cartel Task Force to Vice Chair of the Finance Committee for 2026-2027.

Bonny E. Sweeney, Partner in San Francisco, has been appointed Co-Chair of the International Cartel Task Force for 2026-2027.

Daniel P. Weick, Partner in New York, previously Assistant Editor, becomes Associate Editor of the Antitrust Law Journal for 2026-2027.

Yixi (Cecilia) Cheng, Counsel in New York, has been selected as Counsel to the Section Chair-Elect for 2026-2027.

Erika A. Inwald, Associate in New York, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Agriculture & Food Committee for 2026-2027 within the ABA Antitrust Law Section. Separately, Erika has also been named to the Standing Committee on Gun Violence within the ABA’s Center for Public Interest Law.

Additionally, Lesley Hannah, Partner in London, will chair the Section’s fifth biennial Global Private Litigation Conference, drawing lawyers, economists, enforcers, judges, and academics from around the globe, to be held in Amsterdam in June 2027.

The ABA Antitrust Law Section is the world leader in providing content and programming to professionals in the competition, consumer protection, and data privacy fields and works to advance policies that preserve competition and protect consumers. Hausfeld has a long history of leadership in the Section.
