Jim's practice at Hausfeld currently focuses on environmental law.

In 2018, prior to joining Hausfeld, Jim had a yearlong fellowship with the U.S. House Oversight and Reform Committee, managing three hearings of the Interior, Energy and Environment Subcommittee and, in other matters, investigating everything from cyber breaches to the attempted insertion of the citizenship question on the 2020 census. While in California, Jim reported for the Daily Journal, the state’s largest legal newspaper, on environmental and other stories, and did pro bono work in housing, environmental and family law. In Maryland, immediately after law school, Jim clerked for a Baltimore County Circuit Judge, assisting her in all manner of criminal and civil cases. While in law school, Jim spent a year in the environmental law clinic, working on cases that focused on Chesapeake Bay. Prior to law school, Jim was a reporter for several newspapers, including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he covered transportation, and the Dallas Morning News, where he covered environmental issues.

Working towards a diverse, equitable, and inclusive world is paramount to Jim who is an active member of our Social Inclusion working group.
