VW Diesel Emissions Scandal
In 2015, the US Environmental Protection Agency revealed that Volkswagen used an illegal defeat device to pretend to comply with NOx limits. Volkswagen later admitted that over 11 million vehicles worldwide were affected.
The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) has since ruled that VW must pay damages to the affected vehicle buyers for intentional and immoral damage.
Hausfeld is asserting claims for damages on behalf of around 35,000 VW buyers from Germany as well as numerous VW customers from Switzerland and Slovenia. The law firm was significantly involved in the "Dieselgate scandal" from the beginning.
