IBA’s 24th Annual Competition Conference

In its 24th consecutive year, the IBA’s Annual Competition Conference was hosted virtually for the first time in history, as part of the post COVID world. However, the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading enforcers, judges and practitioners discussing the latest developments in competition law, was not compromised.

Leading competition experts from across the globe explored the competition world’s most recent hot topics including:

  • Abuse of dominance in the age of platforms and data.
  • Competition law and sustainability.
  • Merger control: challenges - today and tomorrow.
  • Burden and standard of proof in the digital age.

London Partner, Anna Morfey, moderated the interactive Antitrust Litigation Working Group workshop on day one of this four-day event, alongside Elizabeth Richmond of Clayton Lutz, Sydney. The pair shared their wealth of knowledge on cartel investigations and follow-on litigation, and examined the thorny issues around protections afforded to information obtained during legal proceedings and investigations: confidentiality, privilege and disclosure.
