OVERVIEW

Yixi (Cecilia) Cheng is Counsel in Hausfeld’s New York* office. Her practice focuses on antitrust litigation and policy, with extensive experience spanning federal investigations, civil and criminal litigation, trials, appeals, and regulatory matters.

Before joining Hausfeld, Cecilia served as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, where she advised Division senior leadership across two administrations on competition priorities.

As an attorney in the Antitrust Division’s Appellate Section, Cecilia was extensively involved in matters ranging from algorithmic price-fixing and information-sharing conspiracies to merger challenges and criminal trials. She played key roles in high-profile cases such as In re RealPage, Inc., Rental Software Antitrust Litigation (No. II), Duffy v. Yardi Systems, Inc., Cornish-Adebiyi v. Caesars Entertainment, Inc., In re Pork Antitrust Litigation / Agri Stats, Inc., LCMC Health System v. Federal Trade Commission, District of Columbia v. Amazon, United States v. Penn (Broiler Chickens), United States v. McGuire (Broiler Chickens), United States v. Padron, and United States v. Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA, et al. (Penguin Random House/Simon & Schuster merger). She has argued motions in federal court, overseen dispositive briefing, and managed expert relationships.

Cecilia is a frequent speaker on competition law, technology, and AI, having presented at the American Bar Association Litigation Section Annual Conference, the American Antitrust Institute’s Annual Policy Conference, and the Federal Bar Association, among others.  She has also guest lectured antitrust courses at several law schools.

Earlier in her career, Cecilia clerked for the Honorable Douglas Ginsburg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and worked as an economic consultant at Compass Lexecon on antitrust matters. She also co-founded Delta Analytics, a nonprofit that provides pro bono data consulting to other mission-driven organizations.
