Pierre Welch

At Hausfeld, Pierre is a member of the team representing clients in interchange litigation against Mastercard and Visa, including acting for a retail client in Trial 2 of the Merchant Interchange Fee Umbrella Proceedings on merchant pass-on before the Competition Appeal Tribunal. 

He assists on the FX collective proceedings brought by Mr Phillip Evans on behalf of individuals and businesses alleging losses on FX spot and outright forward transactions, and was part of the team involved in defending the Supreme Court appeals brought by the banks against the Court of Appeal’s 2024 decision. 

Pierre also advises OEM clients in the automotive sector in relation to losses arising from anticompetitive conduct by suppliers of automotive parts.

Before joining Hausfeld, Pierre's work included advising on merger control and preparing notifications for multiple transactions, including for the acquisition of large-scale windfarm projects in Germany and the acquisition of a cruise line, and he provided general support to transaction teams on competition and data protection issues.

Before Hausfeld, Pierre was part of the team which:

• Acted for a Swiss-based client with operations in Nigeria on an internal bribery investigation, managing a document review and preparing the investigation report.
• Represented a shipping company in an international arbitration concerning an alleged breach of a shipbuilding contract.
• Acted for a cruise company in a dispute with a shipyard over damage to a vessel following the collapse of a floating dry dock, including assisting with prospects advice and preliminary steps for the arbitration.
