RealPage Federal Antitrust Class Action

Hausfeld LLP has been appointed co-lead counsel in a federal antitrust class action representing renters of residential units nationwide against RealPage, Inc. (“RealPage”) and many of RealPage’s property management clients (“Property Defendants”, listed below) (collectively, “Defendants”).

Plaintiffs allege that Defendants coordinated to drive rents up to unprecedented levels, exacerbating the nation’s affordable housing crisis. The complaint asserts that the Property Defendants, among others, conspired to use RealPage’s revenue management software to set rental prices and restrict the supply of available rental units in major metropolitan areas across the United States. Plaintiffs contend that by using this conspiracy to stifle competition, Defendants inflated rents to supra-competitive levels and unlawfully suppressed the supply of rental housing, injuring the plaintiffs and thousands of renters across the United States.

Settlements

On October 15, 2026, the Court in In re RealPage Inc. Rental Software Antitrust Litigation (II) granted final approval of 37 Settlements with 41 Defendants. The Settlements provide for $359,925,000.00 in monetary relief, as well as significant cooperation and injunctive relief. For settlement purposes, the following class was approved: 

All persons and entities in the United States and its  territories who paid rent on at least  one  multifamily  residential  real  estate  lease  directly  to  any  owner,  manager  and/or owner-operator (including to any division, subsidiary, predecessor, agent or affiliate of  any  owner,  manager  and/or  owner-operator)  on  a  property  subject  to  a  license  for  RealPage’s  Revenue  Management  Solutions,  Lease  Rent  Options  (“LRO”),    YieldStar    (“YS”),    and/or    AI    Revenue    Management    (“AIRM”)    (“RealPage’s  RMS”)  at  any  time  during  the  period  of  October  18,  2018  through  November  21,  2025  (the  “Settlement  Class  Period”).  Specifically  excluded  from  this  Class  are  Opt-Outs;  Defendants;  any  entity  licensing  RealPage’s  RMS,  the  officers  or  directors  of  any  entity  licensing  RealPage’s  RMS  and  any  entity  in  which any entity licensing RealPage’s RMS has a controlling interest; any affiliate, legal  representative,  heir  or  assign  of  any  entity  licensing  RealPage’s  RMS;  federal,  state,  or  local  governments;  states  and  their  subdivisions,  agencies,  and  instrumentalities;  any  judicial  officer  presiding  over  this  Action  and  the  members  of  his/her  immediate  family  and  judicial  staff;  and  any  juror  assigned  to  this Action.
