IBA 2023 Paris – Civil and Criminal Antitrust Enforcement Trends
On 2 November 2023, Hausfeld Partner, Lesley Hannah joined an expert panel to discuss ‘civil and criminal antitrust enforcement trends’ at the Annual IBA Conference in Paris.
The panel:
• surveyed newly imposed obstacles to mergers in both the USA and the EU
• examined recent ground-breaking criminal prosecutions involving “no-poach” agreements, where businesses agree not to compete for each other’s employees
• discussed the return of dawn raids in the wake of the COVID crisis receding
• considered the continuing enforcement focus on digital markets and large tech platforms.
Jonathan S Abernethy, from Cohen & Gresser and Julian Peña from Allende & Brea moderated the panel and Lesley was joined by Patrick Hubert from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, Barbara Rosenberg from BMA Advogados, and Laura Shores from Arnold & Porter.
