The Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation appoints Ned Beale to its Mediation Standing Committee

Ned Beale has been appointed as a Member of The Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation’s Mediation Standing Committee.

The Standing Committee consists of 19 members from across 10 jurisdictions and with a balanced representation of mediation, dispute resolution and transactional lawyers, it is well placed to establish the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation as the institutional home for technical mediation and expert determination in the aviation industry globally.

Ned is a leading commercial disputes lawyer, specialising in complex commercial litigation and arbitration with a domestic as well as international angle. He offers specific expertise in resolving aviation disputes, including both lease finance and manufacturing claims, as well as insurance claims within the sector.

Mediation and ADR hugely benefit clients by facilitating the early resolution of disputes.  ADR is routinely integrated into English court processes.  However, many major arbitral institutions have not promoted ADR to the same degree.  I see the Hague CAA’s initiative as a way to ensure the aviation users benefit from the best available ADR practices.

As part of London International Disputes Week 2023, Ned spoke on a panel alongside other leading aviation experts to discuss the hottest topics in the aviation disputes market and how to resolve aviation disputes in times of war and peace.
