Hausfeld recognized again in 2026 Concurrences Antitrust Writing Awards

Hausfeld has once again been recognized by Concurrences as part of its Antitrust Writing Awards, which honor outstanding scholarly contributions to competition law from around the world.

For the 2026 Awards, René Galle, Partner, and Paul Voges, Associate, have been nominated in the Business Articles category (Private Enforcement) for their article “Damages claims for abuse of dominance – A German perspective on effective private enforcement.”

The article was originally published in Hausfeld’s Competition Bulletin and examines why private damages claims for abuse of dominance have historically lagged behind cartel damages actions, despite the significant harm such conduct can cause. Drawing on German and EU competition law, the authors analyze the key legal and evidentiary challenges claimants face, including proving fault, causation, and quantifying harm in complex markets. It also considers how recent case law and enforcement trends, particularly in digital and platform markets, are strengthening the role of private enforcement as a complement to public competition enforcement.

Organized by Concurrences, the Antitrust Writing Awards recognize leading antitrust scholarship through a combination of jury review and public voting. The awards bring together practitioners, academics, and policymakers to highlight influential writing that advances competition law and policy.

Voting will open on January 12, 2026, with award winners to be announced at the ceremony in Washington, D.C. in March.
