2026 Golden State Institute

Hausfeld partners Gary I. Smith, Jr. and Bonny Sweeney will speak at the California Lawyers Association’s 36th Annual Golden State Institute on October 22, 2026, in San Francisco.

Gary will lead the Institute’s keynote session, interviewing former Federal Trade Commission Chair Rebecca Kelly Slaughter in a fireside chat-style conversation.

Bonny will participate in the “Big Stakes Trial Roundtable,” joining members of trial teams involved in significant recent trials and verdicts. The panel will explore trial themes and strategies, drawing on the speakers’ firsthand experiences in high-stakes litigation.

The Golden State Institute is the flagship annual conference of the California Lawyers Association’s Antitrust and Consumer Protection Section, bringing together leading practitioners, regulators, judges and other voices from across the antitrust and consumer protection community.

The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco.
