OVERVIEW

Daniel is a counsel in Hausfeld’s Philadelphia office and an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in civil litigation, antitrust law, and criminal prosecution. Prior to joining Hausfeld, Daniel served as Chief of Civil Litigation at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he led affirmative civil enforcement efforts, defended the office in civil actions, and advised senior leadership as the Office’s de facto general counsel. Daniel also served as a line prosecutor in the Office, where he handled  high-profile prosecutions involving public corruption, prison contraband smuggling, firearms trafficking, and drug trafficking organizations. He successfully argued two cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Earlier in his career, Daniel practiced at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York City, where he represented clients in a wide range of complex civil lawsuits, including in antitrust, bankruptcy, and securities disputes. His notable antitrust matters include In re Modafinil Antitrust Litigation, where he played a key role in trial preparation and in litigation over class certification; Anderson News v. American Media, where he helped draft successful summary judgment motions and appellate briefs in a group boycott case; and Ross v. American Express Co., where his contributions during a five-week bench trial helped secure a favorable ruling in antitrust litigation over the adoption of arbitration clauses in the credit card industry.

Daniel’s commitment to justice extends beyond the courtroom. He has represented “juvenile lifers” in parole hearings and led a federal class action challenging New York’s parole framework for juvenile offenders (Flores v. Stanford). He has also served on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Criminal Procedural Rules Committee.
