German pro bono work

Our team is involved in a variety of pro bono cases.  We set out some recent highlights below.

Transparency

We are pursuing various proceedings to improve the transparency of the government, especially in areas where the public sector joins forces with strong private companies. One example is a successful lawsuit with the Society for Civil Rights (Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte, GFF) before the Hamburg Administrative Court against the Hamburg public transport company strengthening the freedom of information vis-à-vis privately organized public companies.

Corporate Responsibility

In this context, Hausfeld, for example, filed a complaint with the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) on behalf of the non-governmental organization ClientEarth to take action against a major German energy supplier for potential market manipulation in connection with the planned clearing of the Hambach Forest.

Human Dignity

Our team undertakes a number of legal representations and advocacy of refugees before the German administrative judiciary as well as before foreign authorities and non-governmental organizations.
