Hausfeld welcomes back nationally recognized antitrust trial lawyer Bonny E. Sweeney as partner

SAN FRANCISCO [Monday, July 6, 2026] – Hausfeld is pleased to announce that Bonny E. Sweeney has rejoined the firm as a partner in its San Francisco office. Bonny is a nationally recognized antitrust trial lawyer and returns to Hausfeld following her service as Senior Trial/Litigation Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. Her return further reinforces Hausfeld’s nationally recognized plaintiff-side Antitrust and Competition practice in the United States.

At the DOJ Antitrust Division, Bonny trained and advised attorneys on trial practice and substantive antitrust law and served on trial teams in significant enforcement actions, including the government’s monopolization litigation against Live Nation/Ticketmaster and the successful challenge to the American Airlines–JetBlue Northeast Alliance.

Bonny is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with more than three decades of experience in complex antitrust and competition matters, including price-fixing, monopolization, Robinson-Patman Act, and tying claims, as well as related consumer protection and commercial disputes. She has served as lead and co-lead counsel in some of the largest private antitrust class actions in the United States, with several of her cases resulting in landmark court decisions on class certification, antitrust injury, and damages.

At Hausfeld, Bonny previously served as the Co-Chair of the antitrust practice group and as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. She has also been recognized widely for her leadership in the field, including being named the California Lawyers Association’s ‘2023 Antitrust Lawyer of the Year,’ and is a frequent speaker and author on antitrust enforcement and trial practice.

Regarding Bonny’s return, Global Chair Brian A. Ratner said:

“Bonny’s return to Hausfeld is an extraordinary moment for the firm and for our clients. She is a premier antitrust trial lawyer whose leadership, courtroom experience, and deep understanding of competition law have helped shape some of the most important public and private antitrust enforcement matters in the country. We are thrilled to welcome her back to our partnership as we continue to expand the reach and depth of our Antitrust and Competition practice.”

Bonny commented:

“I’m excited to return to Hausfeld and rejoin a team that is consistently at the forefront of plaintiff-side antitrust litigation. My time at the DOJ Antitrust Division further reinforced the importance of representing those impacted by market manipulation, exclusionary practices, and other anticompetitive conduct. I look forward to bringing that experience back to our clients and colleagues as we continue to pursue impactful competition cases.”

Bonny’s return follows the arrival of Daniel J. Walker, who joined Hausfeld as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office on June 2, 2026. Together, these hires reinforce Hausfeld’s strength in Antitrust and Competition, adding significant government enforcement, trial, class action, and plaintiff-side litigation experience to the firm’s national practice.
