Hilary has extensive experience representing businesses and individuals in the trial courts, appellate courts, and before the United States Supreme Court. She has served in leadership positions in a number of high-profile antitrust cases, including cases that have resulted in landmark court decisions. In addition to her antitrust work, Hilary has litigated consumer fraud, financial manipulation, and other complex litigation matters. Over the course of her career, her cases have achieved nearly $2 billion in settlements for victims of wrongdoing. She has been asked to speak on matters related to antitrust enforcement, electronic discovery, and complex case management by the American Bar Association and the Women Antitrust Plaintiffs’ Attorneys. Reinforcing her standing as a trusted leader in her field, Hilary has been named to the National Law Journal’s list of “Litigation Trailblazers & Pioneers” as well as its list of “Antitrust Litigation Stars,” and Lawdragon named her a “Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyer.”
Hilary has represented clients seeking redress in the financial services, airlines, sports, medical products, industrial products, and advertising industries, among others.
Currently, Hilary is leading the District of Columbia’s antitrust lawsuit against Amazon for anticompetitive conduct relating to its first-party and third-party sellers on Amazon.com. The case involves complex questions relating to definition of markets and market power of online platforms. It includes multiple claims under District of Columbia statutes analogous to Sherman Act Sections 1 and 2, including agreements in restraint of trade, monopolization, and attempted monopolization.
