Leadership elections at the London Solicitors Litigation Association: John McElroy as vice president
On Tuesday 26 March, Hausfeld Partner and Head of Commercial Disputes, John McElroy was elected as the LSLA's new Vice President succeeding Nikki Edwards from Howard Kennedy who has stepped up to become President. Nikki and John will serve a term of two years.
John’s key role involves working with the President to ensure that London remains a leading centre for dispute resolution and continues to modernise and innovate by collaborating with the London disputes lawyers as well as the judiciary and the government in advancing and promoting London as that centre. He steps up from his current role as a Committee Member during which he often acted as spokesperson for the LSLA.
The LSLA brings together members who share a common desire to network and add to their knowledge via an active educational programme of lectures and seminars. The Government uses the LSLA as a sounding board for consultations on developments and proposed changes affecting civil and commercial litigation.
John joins the current board of officers alongside distinguished lawyers from Herbert Smith Freehills, Clifford Chance, Howard Kennedy and more.
In recent years the LSLA has submitted papers on the Supreme Court, the KC system, the judicial appointments system, various aspects of the costs regime and reform, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Civil Justice.
