PIEL 2022 - Unchaining environmental law
On 22-23 April 2022, Public Interest Environmental Law's Annual conference brought together key thinkers, including scholars, activists, journalists, lawyers, and PhD students, to discuss the connections and impact of colonialism on modern environmental law and policy.
Wessen Jazrawi joined the Saturday afternoon panel on 'Activism and Environmental Law' moderated by Dr. Kim Bouwer from Durham University. Her fellow panel experts were Mr Juan Auz from Hertie Law School in Germany and Ms Hasminah Paudac-Tawano from Greenpeace Southeast Asia.
Having worked closely with ClientEarth on 'The right to clean air' action and with youth activist Daze Aghaji and Skipsea resident Peter Garforth on the proposed 'Carbon budgets' judicial review, Wessen was perfectly placed to share her insight during this conference.
