Expertise
His practice focuses on solving disputes relating to serious fraud, securities (misselling, mismanagement and close-outs), negligence, guarantees and indemnities, director liability, shareholder matters, M&A disputes (warranties and earn-outs) and data breach issues. He joins Hausfeld from Covington.
He has been involved in groundbreaking High Court and FCA disputes relating to, among other things, market abuse, director disqualification and collective selling, as well as in the Supreme Court on the interpretation of standard contractual clauses. Greg's regulatory matters, including at the FCA, FRC, SFO and Insolvency Service, have related to market abuse and financial statement reporting.
Greg's recent High Court cases have been listed in The Lawyer's Top 20 cases of the year in 2019, 2020 and 2023.
He acts for major corporates, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and individuals, with a broad range of experience across financial services, life sciences, technology, manufacturing, construction, music, sport, real estate, and consumer goods.

Commercial & Financial Disputes
Previously, Greg:
- Represented a major music label on multiple and significant post-transaction contractual disputes.
- Represented significant financial institutions, including leading international investment banks and fund managers, in disputes in the High Court and Supreme Court.
- Advised a hedge fund and a foreign exchange service on potential investment treaty claims.
- Represented numerous private equity funds to resolve investor, internal and portfolio company issues.
- Represented major financial institutions in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions conducted by the FCA, the SFO and the European Commission, including large market abuse matters.
- Represented high net worth individuals from Europe and the Middle East in real estate and art investment disputes.
- Advised bookmakers, utility meter providers and tyre manufacturers as defendants and claimants in anti-trust actions in the High Court.
Arbitration
Previously, Greg:
- Represented owners and corporates in LCIA, ICC, SIAC and SCC arbitration proceedings, including emergency arbitrations and also ancillary Court proceedings in England, Bermuda and the BVI.
Commercial Fraud
Previously, Greg:
- Advised on a complex series of disputes between Ukrainian oligarchs, their corporate vehicles and various third parties under Ukrainian and English law. The matter involved a number of interim hearings and judgments, the successful defence of fraud claims in an 8-week trial (which was a The Lawyer "Top 20 Cases" of 2019) and subsequent worldwide freezing orders.
Professional Negligence
Prior to Hausfeld, Greg:
- Represented the World Anti-Doping Agency defending negligence and defamation claims brought by an athlete (which was a The Lawyer "Top 20 Cases" of 2020). The case included a successful novel judgment on the High Court's jurisdiction in preliminary hearings on defamation matters.
Insolvency & Restructuring
Prior to Hausfeld, Greg:
- Counsel to the former director of a listed company in various regulatory proceedings as a result of company insolvency. This involved representations on one of the most significantly complex corporate investigations the FCA and FRC have conducted and one of the largest director disqualification cases to have been brought by the Secretary of State (which was a The Lawyer "Top 20 Cases" of 2023).
Technology & Data Breach
Previously, Greg:
- Advised a consumer products manufacturer in relation to group consumer claims following a systems breach involving the alleged compromise of personal and private data.
Social justice
Greg's pro bono work included representing a child imprisonment campaigning charity in references to the Supreme Court and ECHR, and Freedom of Information Act requests for other groups.
