OVERVIEW

Shayla is an associate in Hausfeld’s New York office. Shayla started her career as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture, where she transitioned from working with Fortune 500 companies to collaborating with nonprofit and public sector clients. Her experience serving communities through corporate citizenship efforts inspired her to seek systemic change and transition to a career in law.

While in law school, Shayla was a summer associate at Hausfeld for two years and the recipient of Hausfeld’s 1L Diversity Law Fellowship. She was involved in the University of Chicago Law School’s Plaintiff Law Association and served as President for the school’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Project.

Shayla is also an Executive Board Member of Caring Contact, a crisis prevention center that serves as provider for the national suicide prevention hotline. Shayla is responsible for guiding mission performance and oversees Board recruitment.

Antitrust/Competition

  • In Re: RealPage, Inc., Rental Software Antitrust Litigation – Hausfeld serves as co-lead counsel in the federal antitrust class action against RealPage, Inc. and several of their property management clients, alleging that the Defendants, some of the largest owners and managers of rental real estate in the United States, conspired to use RealPage’s so-called “revenue management” service to set rental prices and restrict the supply of available rental units in major metropolitan areas across the United States.

Environmental & Product Liability

  • City of Philadelphia and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Glock, Inc. – Hausfeld serves as lead counsel to the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Giffords Law Center, in this consumer‑protection action against Glock, Inc. alleging deceptive marketing that promotes illegal “Glock switches” and misleads civilians about the legality of fully automatic weapons, seeking civil penalties, compensatory damages, and equitable relief that addresses the public health and safety harms from machine‑gun‑enabled gun violence.
