Giulia focuses on competition disputes, particularly with a tech angle, as well as environmental claims. She was promoted to Senior Associate in January 2025.

Expertise

Giulia has also cultivated great experience on high-profile commercial and financial litigation. She joined Hausfeld from Withers where she qualified as an associate.  

She has a great knowledge of AI related topics such as data protection and ethical and privacy concerns and has been recognised in the prestigious 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics™ 2025 list and in the Top 50 Fintech, TMT & AI lawyers in 2024. She is currently undertaking an innovative, interdisciplinary Masters in AI Ethics & Society at the University of Cambridge. She was featured by Legal 500 as a key lawyer for banking litigation in 2021 as well as for the art and cultural property practice more recently.

Antitrust/Competition

At Hausfeld, she is part of the legal team:

  • Filing a representative collective action with the CAT on behalf of the Consumers’ Association (known as Which?) against Qualcomm on behalf of a class of around 29 million UK consumers alleging that Qualcomm abuses its dominance in the markets for smartphone chipsets and standard essential patents, the result of which is that Qualcomm is able to overcharge smartphone manufacturers like Apple and Samsung for its technology. Damages are estimated to be over £480 million.

Commercial & Financial Disputes

Prior to joining Hausfeld, Giulia was part of the legal teams:

  • Representing 4 claimants in an ongoing claim for declaratory against the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, listed in The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2024. This included project-managing a disclosure review with over 700,000 documents, instructing 5 experts in different fields and communicating in English, French and Italian.
  • Acting for 7 claimant companies against a former director for misappropriation of company funds.
  • Acting for a construction company against an international mining conglomerate in an ICC arbitration, including negotiating and drafting a settlement agreement the night before the arbitration was due to commence with parties and lawyers spread across 4 different time-zones.
  • Representing an individual defending a breach of contract claim brought by a former employer.

Human Rights

Before Hausfeld, Giulia was involved in several pro-bono initiatives:

  • Acted for the Centre for Reproductive Rights in cases involving violations of human rights (in Uganda, El Salvador and Ecuador) under international conventions and domestic legislation impacting women’s access to abortion and reproductive health services.
  • Advised a charity supporting survivors of domestic abuse on a data breach / privacy claim against its local Council.

Environmental & Product Liability

At Hausfeld, she has:

  • Acted on behalf of Stand.earth in a first-of-its kind greenwashing complaint in France against Lululemon in relation to the retailer’s ‘Be Planet’ advertising campaign.”
