Stella is a competition litigation specialist with a focus on competition damages litigation.

Expertise 

Stella has experience in litigation before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. She combines her in-depth knowledge of European and English law practice and procedure, with her practical experience in settling damages claims for her clients.

Previously, Stella worked as legal assistant to Judge Dimitrios Gratsias at the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg. She has also worked for a Belgian law firm specialising in finance, corporate and commercial law and prior to that, in Athens focusing on commercial matters.

Stella played a key role in the legal teams representing or advising ground-breaking litigation:

  • Consumer champion and certified class representative Nikki Stopford in the £7 billion Google Search claim which is challenging Google’s agreements to preserve default status in mobile search. This alleged exclusionary behaviour results in shutting out competition and raised prices for UK consumers across the economy. 
  • Philip Evans in FX Claim UK bringing a collective action against 8 global banks who manipulated the FX market.
  • Foundem in its claim before the High Court against Google for abuse of its dominant position in respect of its conduct in comparison shopping.
  • Automotive manufacturers in their follow-on damages claims relating to the car glass and other Auto-Part cartels.
  • Claimants in relation to the Paraffin Wax, Methionine and the Feed Phosphates cartels.
  • Deutsche Bahn, together with a number of other European public transport companies in connection with the Carbon Graphite damages claim.
