WHAT OTHERS SAY
Experience
Antitrust/Competition
At Hausfeld, George is part of the legal team:
- Representing ATT Collective Action Limited in an opt-out collective action filed on behalf of UK app developers against Apple in the UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal. The claim alleges that Apple abused its dominant position through the design and implementation of its App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, imposing unfair and discriminatory conditions on third-party app developers while favouring its own advertising services. Approximately 13,000 UK app developers are estimated to have lost advertising revenue or paid higher user acquisition costs, and could therefore collectively receive an estimated £1.95bn in damages.
- Representing JLP A&A Class Representative Limited in a collective action against Apple and Amazon on behalf of millions of UK consumers who purchased Apple products. The claim seeks approximately £900 million in damages for consumers alleged to have paid higher prices as a result of an agreement under which Amazon restricted sales of Apple products by independent merchants on its marketplace.
- Acting in a £13.6bn collective proceedings concerning Google's alleged abuse of dominance in advertising technology markets.
