Charles is a disputes lawyer with a focus on competition law including group litigation.
Expertise
Charles joined Hausfeld in August 2024 from Maurice Blackburn, the leading plaintiff law firm in Australia. He has particular expertise on complex group litigation, including shareholder, competition, cartel, and data protection claims.
During his time there, he was a pivotal part of the legal teams dealing with notable group litigation claims against two multinational corporations and technology companies on behalf of app developers and consumers alleging misuse of market power and exclusive dealing; as well as with a price-fixing cartel collective action against major banks.
Charles was also part of the legal team representing consumers in group privacy complaints against a Singaporean telecommunications company and one of the largest Australian private health insurance providers related to data breaches and privacy laws, underscoring his expertise in compliance with privacy regulations.
