Hausfeld Honored with AAI’s Award for Outstanding Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice
Hausfeld is proud to have received the American Antitrust Institute’s (AAI) award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice for collective work on behalf of our clients in In re Blue Cross Blue Shield Antitrust Litigation. This case alleges that Blue Cross/Blue Shield entities across the country entered into agreements not to compete with each other for customers of health insurance.
On November 30, 2020, the Court granted preliminary approval to the proposed settlement agreement resolving the claims of Blue Cross Blue Shield subscribers for $2.67 billion. Hausfeld attorneys who contributed to the successful outcome in this case include Michael Hausfeld, Megan Jones, Swathi Bojedla, Arthur Bailey, Scott Martin, and Kimberly Fetsick. Michael Hausfeld was appointed co-lead counsel, and Hausfeld partner Megan Jones was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee. As such, since their appointment, Hausfeld personnel have been instrumental in designing and executing the strategy of this case. Art Bailey, another Hausfeld partner, was appointed to the Discovery Committee.
