Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report names Hausfeld a top firm for dispute resolution in North America

Hausfeld is proud to announce that we have been ranked as a top firm for dispute resolution by the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers rankings for 2018.

Hausfeld was commended by the Financial Times for its work negotiating on behalf of the plaintiffs in In Re Foreign Exchange Benchmark Rates Antitrust Litigation. In this case, Hausfeld represents investors that engaged in over-the-counter foreign exchange ("FX") transactions with the world's largest banks and their affiliates and investors who entered into FX transactions through domestic exchanges. This class action lawsuit alleges that these banks colluded to fix and manipulate the prices of FX transactions.

To date, the lawsuit has resulted in more than $2.3 billion in settlements on behalf of U.S. investors. The plaintiffs received final approval for all fifteen of these settlements in 2018 and are continuing to pursue their claims against Credit Suisse.

As noted by FT, "the 15 settlements are virtually identical in their non-monetary terms, allowing a simplified claims administration process and maximizing the benefit to class members."

Earlier this year, Hausfeld won FT’s Innovative Lawyers Report Award for Europe which was released in October 2018. Hausfeld was commended for its work in Europe with Dutch transportation insurer Transport Verzekerings Maatschappij (TVM). To read the related press release click here.

Since 2006, the FT Innovative Lawyers report and awards has assessed and ranked lawyers on their innovation for clients and in their own businesses. Law firms and in-house legal teams are invited to submit to five broad sections: legal expertise, the business of law, rule of law and access to justice, collaboration and innovative individuals.
