Annual BICBA Law Forum - ESG & diversity in commercial law

This year the British Irish Commercial Bar Association's annual commercial law event took place in Dublin on 30 March and was themed around ESG and diversity. The event was opened by Mr. Justice Denis McDonald, Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court, High Court of Ireland.

Several panels took place during the day:

  • The Commercial Court in operation in Ireland, England & Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Ethics in litigation
  • Restructuring and insolvency
  • Arbitration funding
  • Diversity in commercial law workshop

Head of Commercial Disputes, John McElroy, shared his insight on arbitration funding and discuss new developments and learnings from Ireland and the UK with panellists Colm Ó hOisín SC of The Bar of Ireland; Susan Dunn, Founder and Maurice MacSweeney, Director of Litigation Funding & Sales Planning - both from Harbour Litigation Funding. The panel was chaired by Mr. Justice David Barniville, President of the High Court of Ireland.

The event was held in the Dublin Dispute Resolution Centre in Church Street, Dublin 7, and was  followed by dinner in the Law Society of Ireland, Blackhall Place, Dublin 7.
