Andrea is a senior staff attorney in Hausfeld’s Boston office with over 17 years’ experience representing defendants and plaintiffs in healthcare and pharmaceutical law. Andrea’s practice focuses on healthcare and pharmaceutical antitrust matters, including primarily off-label and fraud/failure-to-warn investigations, Federal Anti-Kickback statute (“AKS”) violations, medical device product liability, AMP and Best Price calculation methodologies and reporting practices and Medicare fraud/overbilling. Additionally, Andrea has assisted in patent infringement cases involving multiple medical device implants and ANDA litigation.
Andrea has trained and managed large teams of document production review attorneys from the beginning of the document production review through the conclusion of expert discovery, drafting the review protocol and training materials, onboarding attorneys on substantive and privilege issues, facilitating workflow and supervising work product. Andrea worked with the database vendor to implement TAR tools to expedite the review and train the review attorney team to help fully deploy. During discovery, Andrea coordinated deposition preparation and other discovery projects through the Co-Counsel partners and the discovery attorney team. Lastly, Andrea helped identify processing and metadata issues for the database vendor to troubleshoot related to the incoming productions to be addressed in discovery deficiency letters sent to Opposing Counsel. Andrea worked closely with a small team and the vendor to ensure outgoing productions were done in an organized and timely fashion and privileged documents were fully sequestered or were produced with appropriate overlays.
Currently, Andrea collaborates with the Hausfeld Team and team of Co-Counsel firms representing class action plaintiffs in a suit brought against large generic drug manufacturers alleging antitrust violations related to price-fixing and market allocation conspiracies.
Andrea has represented clients mostly in the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare industries.
