Hausfeld wins 'Boutique Law Firm of the Year' award at British Legal Awards 2021

The British Legal Awards hosted by Law.com International, recognised Hausfeld as ‘Boutique Law Firm of the Year’. The awards are one of the premier legal awards celebrating ‘… the best of the best within the UK’s legal community’, we are therefore very proud to receive this accolade.

We had to convince the expert judges that Hausfeld is a leader in its chosen market; made significant progress over the past 12-18 months, and could evidence its legal expertise and innovation, strategic vision, business winning, client care, employee development, sustainable improvements in financial performance and a commitment to CSR.

In our submission we highlighted that we intervened in a number of high-profile matters before the Supreme Court (on behalf of consumer association Which? in the seminal Merricks hearing; for Corner House Research in the claimants’ appeal in Okpabi v Shell; as well as on behalf of Privacy International in the European Commission’s merger review of Google/Fitbit; we launched eight competition/data breach group/collective actions in the UK; we brought ground-breaking climate change litigation as part of our pro-bono practice, and completed a global brand review. The firm was commended for its vision, international expansion but also its gender diversity. 51.5% of all London lawyers and 55.1% of the whole London Hausfeld workforce are female and we have an excellent track record of promoting women with  44% of the London partners female, defying the industry average of 33% (as per SRA study 2020).

The judging panel was made up of lawyers, barristers, GCs, board members and consultants from leading names such as Asos, Travelodge, Facebook, FBN Bank, HSF, Ashurst, NED, 3VB and KPMG, to name but a few.

Congratulations to all the shortlisted individuals, teams and firms!
