Alexandre’s practice has a particular focus on competition litigation.

Expertise

Alexandre joined Hausfeld’s competition team in 2019 and has offered legal support to some of our most prominent cases ever since, assisting thousands of clients in their compensation claims following on from competition authorities’ decisions. He is also active in our data and privacy practice, which focuses on bringing damages claims on behalf of consumers for data misuses and breaches.

During his time at Hausfeld, he has developed expertise litigating in France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Previously, Alexandre gained legal experience around investigations and white-collar crime at Jones Day in Paris. He commenced his career at Gide Loyrette Nouel, where he assisted the legal teams advising and representing public bodies before French administrative courts. He proceeded to working at the Directorate General for Competition, where he interned in the B-4 unit, specialised in merger control in the energy and environment sector.

Alexandre speaks conversational Russian and Spanish.

During his time at Hausfeld, he has:
- Acted on behalf of thousands of hauliers seeking compensation in the Trucks cartel.
- Investigated several litigation claims, throughout Europe and particularly in France and the Netherlands.
He is a pivotal member of the Hausfeld team which:
- Filed a CPR 19.6 legal claim in the High Court on behalf of class representative, journalist and writer Peter Jukes, against Facebook in respect of a loss of control over his personal data and that of other affected Facebook users in England and Wales. The claim alleges Facebook failed to comply with its statutory duties under the Data Protection Act 1998 when it allowed a third-party app called This is Your Digital Life to access not only the personal information of users who downloaded the app, but also the personal information of their Facebook friends – without their knowledge.
- Filed a CPR 19.6 representative action in the High Court against Marriott International on behalf of Martin Bryant, representing millions of affected individuals concerning a major data breach involving the Starwood guest reservation database when unknown persons gained access to hundreds of millions of guest records between July 2014 and September 2018.
