Hausfeld is evaluating and filing Bair Hugger Forced Air Warming Blanket cases in the federal MDL court in the District of Minnesota. The medical literature shows that deep joint infections typically occurring after total hip or total knee replacement surgery may be linked to Bair Hugger warming devices. The need for warming patients in certain surgeries is widely accepted, but evidence suggests that some deep joint infections can be related to the use of warming devices that disperse pathogens to the surgical site area. Deep joint infections can be very serious and difficult to treat. Hausfeld is working with expert pathologists, epidemiologists and infection control specialists to evaluate these claims.
Hausfeld partner Rich Lewis also assists the MDL in developing expert scientific and medical witnesses and litigating Daubert challenges against experts in the MDL.
