Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia appointed Michael Hausfeld as interim co-lead counsel for the proposed class of direct purchasers alleging that the four largest domestic airlines—American, Delta, Southwest, and United—conspired to fix prices for airline tickets from at least January 1, 2009 to present.
Judge Kollar-Kotelly held a three-hour hearing on February 3, 2016, where the four competing leadership proposals were reviewed in light of the criteria the Court indicated it would consider in selecting Plaintiffs' Interim Class Counsel:
In an order dated February 4, 2016, after careful consideration of the leadership proposals and responses provided to the Court, Judge Kollar-Kotelly appointed Michael Hausfeld of Hausfeld LLP and Steven Williams of Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP as interim co-lead counsel.
