Genevieve Anouck Labbé

Alongside Laurent Geelhand, Geneviève Labbe leads the Paris office and manages the French team in the UK. Geneviève is a senior client relationship manager and is instrumental in making sure that businesses across the EU, particularly in France, Belgium and the Netherlands are aware of the latest legal competition and commercial litigation developments.   

Expertise

Prior to joining Hausfeld, Geneviève worked in the third-party funding industry for nine years where she was responsible for managing cases and developing portfolios for high value and complex litigation in the UK, Europe and the US. Due to her expertise in the field of third-party funding, she was asked to assist the the Civil Justice Counsel in developing and implementing regulations for litigation funding.

Geneviève began her career in Canada, where she practiced law for over ten years at a leading Canadian law firm. She specialised in complex negotiation and dispute resolution between major professional organizations and the government.

Clients

She is a key contact for European truck clients and she also utilises her financial background to advise institutional and multinational companies on financial and securities litigation.

Geneviève is a French native, and a fluent English and Spanish speaker.

Competition Disputes

Gen is a pivotal member of Hausfeld’s competition disputes team and has worked on the following cases:

• Trucks litigation: representing over 2,100 clients across Europe with a truck count of some 300,000.
• In addition, she represents some of the best known multinationals and professional associations of France and the Netherlands
• Several automotive cartels including the Capacitors and Bearings cartels.

Commercial Disputes

Gen’s commercial expertise includes:

• FX Claim UK collective action in respect of FX spot trading cartels
• responsible for managing the negotiation of our third party funding deals and developing portfolios for high value and commercial litigation in the UK and Europe.

Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards

Hausfeld won the 'Innovation in legal expertise - Dispute resolution' award at the FT Innovative Lawyer Awards 2018 for our work on the Trucks cartel in the Netherlands. Hausfeld, in conjunction with Transport en Logistiek Nederland (TLN), the leading truck trade association in the Netherlands, approached TVM to fund a mass claim by truck owners against manufacturers after the announcement of European Commission cartel fines for price-fixing. Genevieve was part of the team working on this case.
