Jamie Nicolaides

Jamie is a trainee solicitor with experience in both competition and commercial litigation.

Expertise

Jamie joined Hausfeld as an intern in 2018 and has since been involved in a number of Hausfeld’s most high-profile cases. He was part of the legal team seeking redress on behalf of car manufacturers in relation to various price-fixing and bid-rigging cartels in the automotive industry and assisted with claims arising from the renowned Trucks cartel litigation.

Jamie was pivotal in supporting the commercial disputes team with New Balance’s claim against Liverpool FC, arising out of a sponsorship agreement related to the provision of playing kit and other licensed products.

He has gained experience in all stages of the litigation process and developed broad knowledge of pre-action and case management considerations, as well as settlement experience for cases at differing stages of proceedings.

Jamie has worked with international clients across a range of industries and possesses experience on cases in the English High Court (including the Commercial Court) and Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Furthermore, he has supported Hausfeld’s pro bono efforts, and, has assisted with successful appeals before the Social Security and Child Support Tribunal.

Prior to joining Hausfeld, Jamie volunteered at Citizens Advice and undertook several work placements at other international law firms, where he obtained an insight into additional practice areas including intellectual property law and construction law.

Practice Areas

Competition Disputes

During his time at Hausfeld, Jamie has been a member of the legal teams working on the following cases:

  • Trucks cartel litigation.
  • Several automotive cartels including RoRo, Alternators and Starters and Thermal Systems.

Commercial Disputes

During his placement in the commercial disputes team, much of Jamie’s time was spent working on New Balance’s claim against Liverpool FC, arising out of a sponsorship agreement related to the provision of playing kit and other licensed products.

Pro Bono

Jamie has assisted with:

  • An appeal against a decision by the Department for Work and Pensions relating to personal independence payment disability benefits and other confidential cases.
