James is an Associate at Hausfeld in London where his practice focuses primarily on competition litigation. He has experience in the High Court, the Competition Appeal Tribunal and, at European level, in making submissions to the European Commission.
James trained with Clifford Chance LPP, which included a 6 month period spent in Brussels working on contentious and non-contentious competition matters. His commercial litigation experience includes representing a range of multi-national clients across a variety of industries, from financial services, to pharmaceuticals, and information technology, including those bringing abuse of dominance claims against Google.
James combines a strong legal background with consulting and public policy experience. Prior to embarking on a career in law, he spent a total of 6 years working for a ‘Big Four’ professional services firm and with one of Westminster’s most prominent Think Tanks.
He read Modern History at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he also undertook a Masters degree, specializing in the history of the United States. He is passionate about agriculture and rural affairs, spending as much time as possible on the family farm, and is also an active member of his local church.
