This accolade comes shortly after the firm was shortlisted by The FT Innovative Lawyers Awards 2019 in two categories: “Innovation in the rule of law and access to justice” for its efforts to enable access to justice for Southern African gold miners suffering from occupational lung disease, and “Innovation in legal expertise: litigation and disputes,” for its efforts litigating for affordable cancer medications on behalf of consumers.
The FT and its research partner RSG Consulting completed 600 interviews with clients, senior lawyers, and experts and score each law firm for originality, leadership, and impact. The FT’s recognition of Hausfeld as legal innovators started as early as 2013 and continues to this day on both sides of the Atlantic.
In the US, Hausfeld was ranked as a top firm for dispute resolution by FT Innovative Lawyers in 2018, for its negotiations on behalf of the plaintiffs in In Re Foreign Exchange Benchmark Rates Antitrust Litigation. In the UK, The FT Innovative Lawyers Awards selected Hausfeld as the winner twice in the “Innovation in Legal Expertise – Dispute Resolution” category: in 2018 the firm was recognized for the new approach to working with Dutch claimants in the Truck cartel and in 2013, the firm was recognized for its “pioneering a unique and market-changing litigation funding structure, enabling corporates that have suffered losses as a result of competition law infringements to pursue legal actions with little or no risk.”
Brent Landau, Global Managing Partner of Hausfeld, commented:
“We are very pleased to receive this accolade, which reinforces Hausfeld’s position as a leading law firm that tackles cases with innovative legal theories and a creative approach to claims.”
