CLS’ private compensation actions in practice seminar

This morning event, organised by Contrast Law Seminars, provided an all-round picture of what can be expected in concrete terms, in private compensation actions that follow cartel decisions.

The panel comprised five expert speakers each exploring a specific segment of private compensation actions, sharing perspectives from the plaintiff, the defendant and the economist. Managing Partner, Laurent Geelhand, offered his expertise on ‘Initiating a private damage case: when, where and how?’.

Other topics of discussion included:

  • Interplay between private and public enforcement in competition law.
  • My company is confronted with private compensation actions: what now?
  • Economic aspects for the non-economist.
  • Testimony from practice.
